Report: Russia's eastern line gas supplies to China hit record

BEIJING, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- Gas supplies from Russia to China through the eastern route of the gas pipeline has reached a record of over 20 billion cubic meters (bcm) since the beginning of the year, newspaper China Daily reported on December 2 citing national pipeline company PipeChina.

"The pipeline has transported more than 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas so far this year, a record high," the statement read.

The overall gas transportation since the launch four years ago amounted to 50 bcm. The capacity of the pipeline is expected to grow further in 2024, the newspaper reported.
